About Heather: I am passionate about community building and helping companies connect with their customers, partners, suppliers, employees, etc. I am the Director of Community Services at Farland Group, a marketing consulting company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, specializing in creating customer communities for businesses looking to transform their customer engagement strategies. Previously, I worked at Mzinga where I was helping Mzinga’s clients build strategies to make their communities a success for them, their organization, and their community members.
I have my undergraduate degree in Communications from Florida State University, and my MBA with a focus on information management from McCombs School of Business, University of Texas, Austin. I am a member of The Community Roundtable, a virtual table where social media and community practitioners gather to meet, discuss challenges, celebrate successes, and hear from experts. I am also a regular at Social Media Breakfast Austin and a member of Social Media Club, Austin.
My husband and I love living in Austin. I also love traveling, eating, baking and reading.
